GREENWALL
Il petalo del fiore
CD - MMP 362

Greenwall actually is the pseudomym of Andrea Pavoni. This CD, his first one, features a 33-minute-long suite, “Il Petalo del fiore” (“The petal of the flower”), which looks into the deeper aspects of the human soul, to discover its simplicity in the end.

This suite was recorded in 1989, and here it is issued exactly as it was, with no revision to the original sound.

Having the opportunity to issue the suite, Greenwall decided to issue some other tracks which belong to the same period: the intimate and symphonic instrumental piece “Nonno” (“Grandfather”), and “I bimbi e il burrone” (“The kids and the ravine”), which is presented both in an old and in a new version. The other instrumental track, “Le stanze” (“The rooms”), has been composed and recorded between 1994 and 1998, and features some aspects that belong to a more modern approach to progressive rock.

Greenwall is now preforming as a band in the centre of Italy, featuring Andrea Pavoni plus other musicians, including members of the prog-band Leviathan.

SUNSCAPE
Sunscape
CD - MMP 363
The italian Porcupine Tree?? The italian Floyd?? Hypnotic rhythms, spacy synths, melodic progressive. But differently from the porcupines they have a fantastic flautist that reminds of course the great Jethro and an italian singer helped by a female vocalist here and there. A perfect recording for a record of great value.

GIALMA 3
Rain's dream
CD - MMP 364

The first record from 76 of this band, more famous for its second recording "L'isola del Tonal", also reissued in 94 by Mellow. This record is more jazzy-oriented with a fantastic guitarist but some elements of their style very close to Arti e Mestieri are well present. A pleasant rediscovery.

DISCUS
1st

CD - MMP 365

The music from this Indonesian band is between Dixie Dregs and English progressive with traditional Indonesian and European Classical influences. The elements range from traditional music to jazz, from complicated time signatures to calm and contemplative moments. The album also features such instruments as the 21-strings harpguitar, violin, bass clarinet and Balinese rindik. There is an acoustic trio, a violin solo with electronics. Both male and female vocalists.

ODESSA

Stazione Getzemani

CD - MMP 366

A 90 band with its roots deep in the seventies. (Hammond, flute) They also play covers of "The Trip" and "Il rovescio della medaglia" tracks!! Of particular interest is the keyboardust/singer, very similar to the great Demetrio Stratos.

A band that must be followed with the maximum attention in the future!

IL BALLETTO DI BRONZO
Trys
CD - MMP 367

The welcome live return of this giant band, still lead by the legendary and incredible wizardries of LeoNero, aka Gianni Leone. All YS is played and a few unreleased tracks composed in those glorious years are added.

DORACOR
Antiche impressioni

CD - MMP 368
Corrado is considered as the Italian Tony Banks and "Antiche Impressioni" is symphonic rock of high quality. Accompanied by a female vocalist, a bassist and a guitarist he offers a powerful and dynamic progressive music.

MALIBRAN

In concerto

CD - MMP 369
10 years of great music in 70 minutes of this compact disc from one of the main bands of the italian revenge of the nineties! Malibran plays an energetic progressive rock in Jethro Tull vein with heavy flute flights but it's 100% italian mediterreanean style!

SENS

Les regrets d'Isidore D.

CD - MMP 370
The music is theatrical and emotional in Ange style, with emphasis on the vocals and with long instrumental parts with an excellent guitarist.
Sophisticated arrangements, elaborated music in a typical french style.
