Desde su fundación en 1997, esta formación, según la expresión de Roberto Díaz, su director, ha conectado en el gusto popular por medio de su capacidad para conjugar estilos e instrumentos inusuales en el rock (desde el fagot y el clarinete, la batería y el teclado, hasta las gaitas). En su disco, exploran temas tan distantes como la música cubana y las sonoridades celtas.
La fusión de distintas corrientes musicales (rock sinfónico, folclore, el new age,...) y unos textos a pie de calle (con un mensaje comprometido con la filosofía humanitaria y espiritual) forman la base del proyecto, de la cual Martin Hudson, en Woundrous Stories, Estados Unidos, expresó: "...Mejor diría, una impresionante banda de rock progresivo... a mantenerse a la escucha con ellos".

The music of The Far Side merges the taste for articulate structures and formal accuracy with metal-oriented and alternative sounds. The songs are built on a solid foundation of drums and guitars, courterpointed by the synthesizers and enriched by acoustic digressions. Though sometimes complex, all the arrangements are accurately reproduced live by the band with the aid of a MIDI sequencer and pedalboard. Particular attention is also reserved to the quality of lyrics.
